Description

The garden wall and gateway at the side and rear of Old Rectory Cottage date back to the 17th century, with some later repairs. The wall is made of red brick laid in English bond and stands approximately 1.5 metres high. It features a brick-on-edge capping and has been raised in height on either side of the gateway. The gateway itself has a projecting brick surround topped with a brick pediment, and it includes a recessed opening with a semicircular arched head. The door is made of wooden planks, which are ledged and braced. The overall structure is L-shaped, measuring approximately 32 metres from north to south and about 30 metres from east to west.
