(South-East Side) 2/419 Ice-house at St Josephs RC School II

Ice-house. Late C18 or early C19. Red-brown brick, earth covered. Vaulted tunnel leads to domed, circular, chamber. Board door to low, segmental-arched, tunnel entrance, set in screen wall which has stone cornice. Inside, basket-arched entrance (door removed) into chamber, which has had the pit filled in. The Ice-house served Etloe House, Church Road (qv).
