Description
Emmanuel Church Hall is a church hall built in 1906 by E C Frere. It is constructed of yellow brick with Portland stone dressings and features a pitched concrete tiled roof with deep eaves. The building has aisles on the north and south sides and a clerestory. The gabled west end has a central round-headed entrance with a prominent keystone, and a Dutch style 'hoist' that may have been used for a bell, set in a scrolled gable. Below this, there is a thermal window with thick Portland stone mullions and a dentilled timber transom. The aisle windows are segmental-headed with tripartite sashes, although the north aisle windows have been replaced with metal frames. The clerestory windows are four-light sashed with small panes and glazing bars. The eaves cornice is deep and bracketed, featuring dentils.
