Leyton, E10 LEA BRIDGE ROAD (north side) Parish Church of Emmanuel (No 251)

GV II Church. 1934-5. By Martin Travers and T. F. W Grant. Brown brick, concrete tiled (formerly copper) low pitched roof to parapet. Aisled three-bay nave, running through to aisleless chancel; north-west porch. Stripped, almost styleless design, mullioned windows with segmental headed cuspless lights, two-light to clerestory and five-light to west end. East window circular. Segmental and square headed stone architraved entrances with simplified volutes and cherubs carved in relief.

Interior with depressed arcade arches on capitalless square piers, western gallery and barrel ceiling with exposed timber tie beams. Reredos (simplified), altar rail, font and other furniture designed by the architect.
