Description
The Bakers Almshouses railings and gates, located on the north side of Lea Bridge Road in Leyton, date from the mid to late 19th century and have been restored and reset on a 20th-century brick wall and gatepiers. The railings and gates are made of cast iron and consist of one pair of gates along with two single gates, all featuring scroll decoration. The railings include Fleur de Lys standards and a foliated dog rail. An overthrow displays the words "London Master Bakers Benevolent Institution Founded 1832." These features contribute to the group value of the site.
