Description

47 The Broadway is a 17th-century, timber-framed building located in Cheam. It has two storeys and features a modern tile roof that is hipped at the south end. The building, along with No. 45, has roughcast cladding on the first floor and weatherboard cladding below. On the first floor, there are two horizontally sliding sash windows, while the ground floor has two sash windows with glazing bars and a central doorway framed with a moulded architrave, leading to a half-glazed door.

No. 49 features a two-light casement window on the first floor to the left and a small window to the right, with a door, a small window, and a modern glazed addition on the ground floor. No. 51 also has roughcast cladding, with two sash windows with glazing bars above, a shop window, and a doorway on the ground floor. Nos. 53 and 55 have roughcast cladding as well, with two sash windows, one horizontally sliding sash, and a two-light casement on the first floor, and a shop front on the ground floor. No. 57 has a modern curved front facing The Broadway.

At the north return to Park Lane, there is a clapboard extension with a slate roof, featuring two 19th-century sash windows, each three panes wide. Nos. 45 to 57 form a group with Nos. 1 to 25 Park Lane and Nos. 1 to 9 Malden Road, along with the garden wall to the north of Nos. 1 to 3 Malden Road, the Rectory, and the garden walls and laundry in the grounds of the Rectory.
