Description

Nelson House is an early to mid-19th century building on West Street, Carshalton. The front of the building is rendered, with the ground floor rusticated. It is two storeys high with two window bays. A band runs along the building, topped with a capped parapet. On the first floor, there is a sash window with three panes to the left and a three-light sash window to the right, both set within moulded architraves that have moulded cornices resting on consoles. A flight of four steps, flanked by railings, leads up to a round-headed doorway with a moulded archivolt and pilasters. The doorway has a semi-circular fanlight and a six-panelled door. To the right of the entrance is a three-light sash window in a moulded architrave with a cornice and consoles.
