Description
Nos 6 and 8 on West Street are early 18th century buildings, constructed sometime after 1730. They are two storeys tall with an attic and feature painted weather-boarding. The buildings have two window bays and consist of two parallel ranges topped with an old tile double-gabled roof. The sash windows are four panes wide, and there are two flat-topped dormers.
These properties are part of a group that includes Nos 2 to 12 (even), Nos 18, 20, 22, and 24, as well as Nos 3 to 11 (odd) and No 15 on West Street. They are also associated with the Water Pavilion to Carshalton House, the boundary wall to Carshalton House in West Street, and The Old Rectory on Festival Walk.
