Description

This is a semi-detached pair of houses located on London Road in Mitcham. They were built in the early 19th century. The houses are constructed of brick, with the ground floor finished in channelled stucco. They have a slated mansard roof to the lower outer bays, with the roof of the inner bays not visible. The houses are generally three storeys high, with a basement, although the outer portions are only two storeys tall and are recessed. Each house has three windows, with entrances located on the returns. The windows are square-headed sashes with glazing bars, except for those on the top floor of number 472, which have margin glazing on the ground floor. A cornice runs above the first floor of the entrance wings, and above the second floor of the central section.
