Description

Nos 482 and 484 on London Road are a semi-detached pair of houses built in the early 19th century. They are constructed of brick with channelled stucco on the ground floor. The houses feature a slated mansard roof on the lower outer bays, while the roof is not visible on the inner bays. Each house is mainly three storeys tall, plus a basement, and each has three windows across its front. The outer house has only two storeys and is recessed, with entrances located on the returns. The windows are square with gauged heads, and they are sash windows with glazing bars. The ground floor has margin glazing. There is a cornice above the first floor at the entrance wings and another cornice above the second floor in the centre section. There is a later 20th-century one-window extension to the left of No 484, which is not included in the listing.
