Description
No. 2 The Grange is a detached house built in 1889, designed by E J May. The house features plum brick with red dressings and a hipped tiled roof that extends to the eaves. It is two storeys high and five bays wide, with arched dormers. The entrance is located in a projecting porch between the first and second bays from the left, which has a cornice and hipped roof, and is accessed from the right. The entrance has a panelled door. The ground floor windows are segmental headed, while those on the upper floor are square headed. On the right side of the ground floor, there is a canted bay window. The ground floor windows are timber mullioned and transomed with plate glass casements, while the upper floor features sashes with small panes and glazing bars. The eaves are coved, and there are two double gabled two-light dormers with sashes and plate glass. The house also has tall chimneys. The interior has not been seen.
