LONDON BOROUGH OF MERTON PELHAM ROAD TQ 2570 9/110 Pelham High School 2.11.84 - II

Former school. Circa 1900. Brick with stone dressings; tiled hipped roof to eaves. Wren revival. Symmetrical facade of sixteen bays to Southey Road. Outer bays set back, with tower to right; centre 6 bays advanced, with semi-circular pediment to centremost pair. Three storeys. Entrance to right hand bay, square headed with oculus over. Windows square headed with gauged brick heads, many with prominent keystones. Sashes small panes glazing bars. Brick and stone quoins. Modillion cornice. Central cupula. Some decorative carving. Tower to right with stepped top and cupola. Return to Pelham Road also of interest. Interior not inspected.
