This milestone, located on Staines Road in Bedfont, is dated 1743 and marks a distance of 13 miles from London. It is part of a series of 18th-century milestones that indicate distances of 12 miles, 13 miles, and 15 miles from the capital. These milestones were established along the London-Staines Road, which is one of the main historic routes leading into London and follows part of the ancient Roman road to Silchester.
