Description

This is an 18th-century headstone located at St Mary's Church in Bedfont, dating from around 1770. It is made of Portland stone and features a scrolled top with a relief of a cherub hovering over a flaming urn, flanked by swags. This relief symbolizes the immortality of the soul. The upper part of the inscription is in Gothic lettering and reads "Sacred to the Memory of"; however, the identity of the person commemorated by this monument is not recorded.
