Description

Milestone opposite Star Road is a cast iron milestone dating from 1834. It has a triangular shape with an arched head that is inscribed with "HESTON PARISH" above the pedimented sides. The sides display the distances to London (9 miles) and Hounslow (1 mile). This milestone is part of a series of similar milestones that were erected along the London Road, which is one of the main historical routes leading into London from the west.
