II Milestone. Cast iron. C. 1834. Triangular in section, with an arched head inscribed ISLEWORTH PARISH over the pedimented sides. These read LONDON 8 and HOUNSLOW 2. HISTORY: The milestone is comparable in form with another, erected by Heston parish opposite Star Road, Hounslow which retains the founders' mark of RU & J Barrett London 1834. It lies along one of the principal old roads leading into the capital.
