Description
This is a milestone made of cast iron, dating from around 1834. It has a triangular shape with an arched top, featuring the inscription "ISLEWORTH PARISH" above pedimented sides that indicate the distances to London (8 miles) and Hounslow (2 miles). The milestone is similar in design to another one erected by Heston parish, which bears the founders' mark of RU & J Barrett, London, from the same year. It is located along one of the main historic roads leading into London.
