Description
1, Swan Road is a double-span house that reflects two different periods of construction. The main north span, built in the late 18th century, features a fairly low-pitched hipped tiled roof and rendered walls with a cornice. This part of the house is two storeys high and has two windows with sashes that include glazing bars, although some have been replaced. There is a central six-panel door that is sheltered by a bracketed hood.
The south span, which faces the garden, dates from the early 18th century but was re-fronted in the early 19th century. It is constructed of stock brick and has a parapet that partly conceals a fairly high-pitched tiled roof with an end chimney. This section is also two storeys tall and features three windows with large sashes that have delicate glazing bars. The west return of the house is cement rendered.
