Description
The Railway Arms Public House is an early to mid-19th century building that stands two storeys high and features three windows. It is raised on a mound with a brick retaining wall that holds the cellar entrance and serves as the floor for a full-length ground floor loggia. This loggia is supported by paired slender iron columns and features a balcony above with a wrought iron railing. The building has a hipped slate roof and is constructed of multicoloured stock brick. The first floor has long sash windows with glazing bars, with the outer windows being tripartite. On the ground floor, there is a central half-glazed double door flanked by canted bays that hold sash windows with glazing bars, although the centre of the right-hand bay has been altered to accommodate a door.
