Offices Of The Valentine Varnish And Lacquer Company

The offices of the Valentine Varnish and Lacquer Company is an early to mid-18th century building that stands two storeys high with an attic and features six windows. There is a projecting addition on the right side that dates from the early to mid-19th century. The building has a tiled mansard roof, which includes four modern dormers above the older section. To the rear, there is a two-storey, one-window wing with a hipped tiled roof that is blank on the first floor. The exterior is made of multicoloured stock brick, and the recessed sash windows have glazing bars and are set under shallow segmental brick arches. It is possible that the brickwork has been renewed in the 19th century. On the inner return of the later wing, there is a sash window with delicate bars on the first floor, and on the ground floor, there is a later canted bay that holds three sash windows with glazing bars.
