Description

The Nyth is a 3-bay cottage built in 1824, featuring one storey above a high basement. It has a low pitched hipped roof with a central chimney that has been renewed in modern tiles, and the eaves slightly overhang. The walls are finished in stucco with incised lines. On the right side, there are long casement windows leading to a cast iron balcony. On the left, five stone steps with cast iron handrails lead up to a half-glazed double door set within a wooden trellis porch. The right return of the cottage has two small cast iron balconies similar to the one at the front. Inside, the basement rooms are groin vaulted and are believed to be remnants of Wricklemarsh house, which was formerly located on the site. There is a modern studio extension on the left, which is not included in the listing.
