Description
Luxhay Cottage is a cottage that likely dates back to the 17th century. It was refenestrated in the early 19th century and underwent alterations in the mid-20th century. The exterior features roughcast walls and a steeply pitched concrete tiled roof with brick stacks at the gable ends. The building has a two-cell layout with a cross passage and stands two storeys high, presenting a facade of one bay on the left and two bays on the right. There is a modern light inserted above the entrance, and the windows are primarily three-light leaded iron casements, except for the right end bay, which has a three-light ovolo moulded mullion window with no window below it. The entrance is located between the first and second bays on the left, featuring a gabled porch and a 20th-century door. Although the interior was not seen, it is reported to contain a winder stair beside the stack and chamfered beams.
