Description

This is a mid-19th century terrace of shops and houses. Numbers 77 to 81 (the odd numbers) have two windows each, while numbers 79 and 81 have three windows and central doorways. The building is two storeys high with a basement. It has a moderately low-pitched slate roof with deep eaves soffits. The front is built of multicoloured stock brick with a stuccoed finish. The sash windows have glazing bars and margin lights, with plain reveals. There are four steps leading to the recessed doors, each with a reeded cornice head and a rectangular fanlight set within a modified entablature surround and pediment. A carriage entrance is located to the right of number 79. Numbers 77 to 81 form a group with numbers 71 to 75 and 83 and 85.
