Description
The tombstone to Roberts, located in St Mary-at-Finchley Churchyard, dates from around 1730 and is made of Portland stone. It features a headstone with an oval inscription panel that is surrounded by putti, drapery, and auricular decoration. At the foot of the stone, there is a relief depicting a jumbled arrangement of skulls and bones. This tombstone is noted for being one of the most elaborate Baroque examples, showcasing unusual imagery related to mortality. It also has group value with the Gee tombstone.
