Description

Numbers 1 to 12 constitute a row of houses dating from the mid-19th century. The houses are constructed of stucco, with slate mansard roofs. They are four storeys high, with dormers in the mansard, and include a basement level. Each house is two windows wide. The ground floor is rusticated, featuring a slightly projecting porch with pilastered Doric columns. A continuous bombé iron balcony runs across the first floor. Windows are square-headed, with architraves above the ground floor, and cornices to the first and second floors. They are sash windows with glazing bars. A console cornice is situated above the third floor, although this feature has been simplified on numbers 1, 11 and 12. Cast iron area railings are present.
