Description
Whites Hotel is part of a terrace of houses built in the mid-19th century by Sancton Wood. The building is constructed of stucco and has four storeys facing Bayswater Road, with a two-storey facade at the rear. The main facade features three windows for each house, with the entrance located to the left. There is channelling on the ground and first floors, which is recessed behind superimposed Doric and Ionic colonnades. Number 90 has a central canted three-storey bay window, supported by Corinthian half columns on the second floor, which also features a central window with a pediment. Number 92 has similar half columns and a pediment but has a flat facade. The windows are square-headed, architraved sash windows with plate glass, and there are cornices between the storeys. A prominent dentil cornice with a key frieze is located above the third floor. Both Nos 90 and 92 have a full attic storey, with No 90 featuring a segmented pediment. Number 91 has an attic mansard with segmental-headed dormers. The rear facade is also architecturally interesting, displaying superimposed orders on the channelled facade.
