Block of houses 1910-12 by Maurice Hulbert. Finely pointed warm red brick and lavish stone dressings and facings. Wrenaissance style. A symmetrical composition with fronts to Gilbert Street, Brook Street and blind to Binney Street. Four storeys, basement and dormer in steep, slated mansard, prominent chimney stacks. Ashlar faced channelled ground floor and ashlar faced pedimented centrepieces to both main elevation that to Brook Street with giant pilasters, Splayed corners with rusticated stone quoins. Architrave surrounds to windows, those in Gilbert Street centrepiece as tripartite pairs with columns and entablature. Three window single storey wing extending north. Ornate cast iron area railings.
