Description
The screen walls, terraces, and exedra with fountain framing the garden to the rear of number 88 Brook Street were built between 1909 and 1910 by architects Mewes and Davis as part of their refurbishment of the house. Constructed from Portland stone, this small paved garden is elegantly designed in the French formal style. It features terraces that are framed and flanked by screen walls with rusticated piers and panels, culminating in an axial exedra that includes a shell-shaped fountain against the wall of the rear service quarters.
