Description
Nos 2 to 5 Hertford Street are a row of terrace houses with shops, likely built in the late 18th century and altered over time. The buildings are mostly covered in stucco, except for No 5, which has been refaced in brick, and they feature slate roofs. They stand three storeys tall with dormered mansard roofs. Each house has three windows across the front, except for No 2, which has two blind windows and four opened windows on the return side. Mid-19th century alterations include shop fronts, with No 5 retaining its pilaster frame and entablature, while the others have been variously altered in the early to mid-20th century. The upper floors have revealed sash windows without glazing bars, set under flat gauged arches. The buildings have parapets with copings, and No 5 features a three-window return with a gable.
