Description
No. 54 Shepherd Market is a terrace house built around 1746, with some alterations. The exterior is finished in stucco and features a slate roof. The building has three storeys and a dormered mansard, with a width of two windows. The ground floor has a mid-20th century shop front, while the upper floors have altered recessed sash windows. A parapet with coping crowns the building. Inside, the original dog-legged staircase with turned balusters is preserved. This house is part of the Shepherd Market development, which was laid out around 1735, with Edward Shepherd as the builder, designer, and promoter, working on the Grosvenor and Cavendish Estates.
