Description
Nos 20 and 22 Shepherd Market is a terrace house located in a passageway leading to Curzon Street. It dates from the early 19th century and is likely a refacing or rebuild of a mid-18th century house. The building is constructed of yellow brick with a slate roof and stands three storeys tall, featuring three windows across its facade. The ground floor has a mid-20th century shop front, while the upper floors have recessed sash windows without glazing bars, set beneath flat gauged arches. The building is topped with a parapet that has coping. It is part of the Shepherd Market development, which was laid out around 1735 and built around 1746, designed and promoted by Edward Shepherd, who was involved in construction on the Grosvenor and Cavendish Estates.
