Description

No. 18 Shepherd Market is an early to mid-19th century terrace house, likely a refacing or rebuilding of a mid-18th century property, situated within a passageway leading to Curzon Street. The building is constructed of yellow brick with red brick dressings, topped with a slate roof. It stands four storeys high and is two windows wide. The ground floor features a shop front dating to the mid-20th century. The upper floors have recessed sash windows without glazing bars, each set beneath a red brick flat gauged arch. A parapet with coping completes the facade. No. 18 forms part of the Shepherd Market development, originally laid out around 1735 and constructed around 1746, by Edward Shepherd, who designed and built on the Grosvenor and Cavendish Estates.
