Description
Nos 45 and 46 Hertford Street are terraced townhouses built in 1767. They are constructed of brown brick with stuccoed ground floors and feature slate roofs. The buildings rise four storeys, with basements and dormered mansards, and each has a front that is three windows wide. The doorways are located to the right and left, featuring six-panel doors with patterned segmental fanlights. No 45 has coved reveals, while No 46 is flanked by stone obelisk piers at its entrance. The revealed sash windows do not have glazing bars and are set under flat gauged arches. A bracketed stone cornice sits above the second floor, topped by a parapet with coping. Wrought iron area railings complete the exterior. Notably, No 45 was the residence of the carver Joseph Crawford.
