Description
No. 13 Hertford Street is a terraced town house built around 1768-1770 as part of the development on the south side of Hertford Street by the elder Henry Holland and his son, in partnership with John Eldridge. The house features painted brick with a channelled stucco ground floor and a slate roof. It stands four storeys high, including an attic storey and a dormered mansard, with a basement below. The façade is three windows wide, with the entrance located to the left, showcasing a panelled door and a semicircular fanlight. The windows are recessed sash types without glazing bars, set under flat gauged arches. A stucco plat band runs along the first floor, with a main stone cornice above the second floor and an attic parapet with coping. The first and third floors have renewed balconies, while the second floor features cast iron balconettes from the early 19th century. The property is also adorned with cast iron area railings topped with flambé torch finials.
