Description
TQ 2879 SE CITY OF WESTMINSTER VICTORIA SQUARE, SW1 98/32 (north side) Nos 13 to 18 (consec) 24.2.58 including No 6 Lower Grosvenor Place GV II* Block of terraced houses. 1838-9 by Matthew Wyatt. Stucco. Roofs not visible. Corner houses (Nos 16 and 6 Lower Grosvenor Place) with corner "pepperpot" turrets, each lead domed with finial; these houses with Corinthian pilasters rising through first and second floors; pilaster treatment also to end houses on square and on street leading into square from north. 3 storeys, attic and basement. Each house 2 windows wide, except corner houses with turrets and No 13 (1 tripartite window wide). Doorways and windows square headed; sashes, mostly plate glass, panelled doors. Cast iron first floor balony to No 14. Cornice above second floor. Subsidiary cornice to attic. Cast iron area railings. Integral part of unified layout and matching block to Nos 19 to 25 qv.
