Buckingham Palace Lodge, located to the south of the entrance to the Royal Mews, is a substantial lodge built in the early 19th century. It is constructed of yellow brick with Bath stone on the ground floor and features a hipped slate roof that extends to a parapet. The building is three storeys high and three windows wide, with a central entrance set within a projecting Doric porch. The windows are square-headed with gauged heads on the first and second floors, and they are fitted with sash frames that include glazing bars. A stone cornice runs along the top. To the right, there is a five-window return, while to the left, a recessed, pedimented two-storey wing also has a five-window return. The lodge is enclosed by spearhead area railings and is one of a pair of lodges that flank the entrance to the Royal Mews.
