Description

No. 1 Buckingham Gate is a mid-19th century terraced house, altered subsequently. The house is constructed of stucco, with a roof that is not visible. It comprises six storeys plus a basement, with the upper storey likely an addition. The façade is five windows wide. It features rusticated quoins and channelling to the ground floor. The right-hand side has an entrance flanked by Ionic pilasters. The windows are square-headed, with segmental heads to those on the third and fourth floors. First-floor windows have iron guards; pediments adorn the first-floor windows, while cornices are present above the second floor. The sashes contain plate glass. A dentil cornice sits above the third floor, and a subsidiary cornice above the fourth. The house has a balustraded area.
