Description

This is a row of houses located on Motcomb Street in the City of Westminster, built around 1829 and altered over time. The buildings are finished in stucco, and while the roofs are not visible for most, Nos 1 to 4 feature slated mansard roofs. The row consists of three storeys, with each house having two windows. The ground floors have 19th and 20th-century shopfronts that have been altered. Some original doorways remain, with No 1 featuring an arched fanlight, while others have been modified. The first floor has cast iron balconies with a honeysuckle design. The windows are square-headed, sashed, and include glazing bars. Nos 2 and 3 have added architraves and plate glass in their windows. Above the second floors, there is a cornice and parapet. The ends of the row return at Nos 1 and 8, and there are area railings present.
