Description
This is a commercial building located in Motcomb Street, City of Westminster. It dates from around 1830, although it was largely rebuilt after a fire in 1874, retaining only the front facade. It was likely designed by Joseph Jopling and constructed by Seth Smith. The building is in the Greek Revival style and is constructed of stucco. It is two storeys high, with a basement. It has nine windows across the front. A Greek Doric giant order, in the form of half columns, links the ground and first floors, creating a screen between which the windows are situated. The windows are square-headed sash windows with small panes. Arched entrances are positioned in the second and eighth bays. The building has a blind attic with the word "Pantechnicon" imprinted in stucco.
