Description
No 12 Belgrave Square is a mansion built around 1840-1850 by Sir Robert Smirke. It is constructed of stucco with a slate mansard roof and has three storeys, an attic, and a basement. The building is five windows wide and features a central projecting porch supported by paired Doric columns. There is a balustraded balcony on the first floor, along with a wide central window that has a pediment above it. The windows are sashes with glazing bars, and there are French windows on the first floor. A dentil cornice and a balustraded parapet complete the exterior. The interior has not been inspected. This building is an integral part of the layout of Belgrave Square.
