Description

A pair of terraced houses dated to the 1850s, situated within the planned scheme for Princes Square. The houses are constructed of stucco, with a roof that is not visible. They are four storeys high, with an attic and basement, and each house has a frontage of two windows. The ground floor features channelling. Each house has a projecting Doric porch, and a distinctive convex facade above the ground floor. A continuous cast iron bombé balcony runs across the first floor. The ground and third floors have square-headed windows, while the first floor windows are rounded at the corners, with cornices and pilasters. The attic has segmental-headed windows. The windows themselves are sash windows with glazing bars, set within architraves. A rich dentil frieze sits above the third floor, topped by a subsidiary cornice to the attic. Cast iron area railings are present.
