TQ 2981 SE CITY OF WESTMINSTER FRITH STREET, W1 58/62 No. 15 14.1.70 GV II* Terrace house with rare early C19 shop front. House of c.1734, altered. Stuccoed front,concealed roof. 4 storeys. 3 windows wide. Ground floor has intact Gothick style shop front inserted in 1816, of 3 unequal bays articulated and flanked by slender, cast iron clustered shafts. House door in right hand bay, recessed of 6 framed panels and rectangular fanlight having looped fan tracing pattern, flanked by elongated consoles; the main former shop window to left is of 4 x 8 panes with wooden glazing bars with a 4-centred arch above transom filled with cast iron tracery and dagger trefoils to spandrels; off centre former shop doorway, now window,has pointed arch above transom with intersecting tracery and similar spandrels; entablature overall with frieze coved outwith delicate drop finialed quoining to cornice. Square headed recessed casements to upper floors. Parapet with coping. Survey of London; Vol. XXXIII.
