Description

These are a group of four terraced houses, numbers 7 to 11, dating from around 1810 to 1820. They were built as part of a larger development by J.T. Parkinson for the Portman Estate, originally forming part of Montagu Square. The houses are constructed of stock brick with a stuccoed ground floor, and have concealed slate roofs. They are four storeys high with a basement. Each house has a front two windows wide. Segmental arched doorways are located to the left of number 7 and to the right of numbers 9 and 11, each containing a panelled door within panelled jambs, and a fanlight above. The ground floor windows are also segmental arched, with key blocks above. The upper floors have recessed sash windows, set within flat, gauged brick arches. Stuccowork features a plat band at first floor level. A crowning stucco cornice and blocking course tops the facade. A continuous cast iron balcony, featuring a looped patterned design, runs across the first floor. The forecourt has cast iron area railings topped with urn finials.
