Description
No. 21 Charles Street is a terraced town house built around 1750-1753. The house is constructed of brown brick and features a slate roof. It stands three storeys high, with a basement and a dormered mansard, and has four windows across its front. The entrance is marked by a stone doorcase with a cornice supported by consoles, located to the left of the centre. The windows are revealed sash types without glazing bars, set under flat gauged arches. A bracketed cornice runs below the parapet. The first floor boasts a full-width early 19th-century cast iron balcony that projects over the entrance, supported by slender cast iron brackets. Additionally, there are cast iron railings surrounding the area.
