Description

No. 84, Carlton Hill is a detached house dating from the mid-19th century. It is constructed of gault brick, with stucco detailing, and has a slate roof. The building’s design is irregular, with three main bays. It has two storeys plus an attic and a basement, and features an imposing four-storey tower to the left, topped with a hipped slate roof. The central entrance is prominent. The right bay incorporates a canted ground floor window, a crenellated parapet, and a straight-sided gable to the roof. Windows are square-headed and architraved, some containing mullions and transoms, and others being sashes. An arched window lights the centre bay of the attic.
