Description
Nos 76 and 78 Carlton Hill are a pair of semi-detached villas built in the mid-19th century. They are constructed from gault brick with stucco dressings and have a pitched slate roof that features a parapet. The villas exhibit Tudor or "Gothick" styles and have an irregular composition. Each villa has three storeys with one main bay. No 76 has a large gable and a full-height entrance bay that is recessed to the right, topped with a crenellated parapet. No 78 features a smaller gable and a crenellated canted bay window on the ground floor. Both villas have square-headed windows that are two-light, architraved, mullioned, and transomed. There are pinnacles situated between the bays, and No 76 includes a garage at the basement level.
