Description

Nos 80 and 82, Carlton Hill, are a pair of semi-detached houses dating from the mid-19th century. They are constructed of gault brick with stucco dressings, and have a slate roof. The houses are built in an Italianate style with an irregular composition of four bays. The two-storey section facing Carlton Hill has a slightly advanced second bay with a gable containing an arched window, and a smaller gable to the attic in the second bay from the right. The ground floor windows have square, architraved surrounds with cornices, and are sash windows, some with plate glass. Entrances are located on the returns. A four-storey tower with an arched window is situated on the right return. The eaves are bracketed. The buildings are included in the list solely for their group value.
