Description

TQ 2980 NW CITY OF WESTMINSTER OLD BURLINGTON STREET Wl 70/74 No 32 24.2.58 GV II Terraced town house, 1718-23. By Colen Campbell, part of same innovatory terrace design as No 31 but altered. Brown brick, slate roof. 4 storeys, basement and dormered attic. 3 windows wide. Ground altered with early C20 shop front articulated by engaged columns with entablature. Upper floors as on No 31 with stone architraves to sash windows, no glazing bars, pulvinated friezes and cornices to those on 1st floor. 1st floor sill band of stone and stone bracketed cornice continued from No 31. Wrought iron area railings. Interior much altered with late C19 stair balustrade etc, but service stair and rear closet intact, the latter with original panelling on ground and 1st floors.
