Description

This is a terrace of houses located on Kensington Gardens Square, built in the mid-19th century. The houses are constructed of stucco and stand four storeys high, with an attic and basement. Each of the nine houses (numbered 75 to 85) has three windows spaced closely together. The ground floor is characterised by vertical channelling, while projecting Doric porches provide entrance points. Panelled doors lead into the houses. The ground floor and third floor windows are square-headed, while the others are round-headed, arranged in groups of three and flanked by decorative shafting. The groups of windows on the first and second floors are corniced, with pediments above the central windows on the second floor. The windows are plate glass sashes. A console cornice runs above the third floor, and a subsidiary cornice defines the attic. Cast iron area railings are present. The terrace forms an integral part of the planned layout of Kensington Gardens Square.
