Description
Nos 9 and 11 on Hill Road are a pair of semidetached houses built in the mid-19th century. They are constructed of yellow brick with stucco and feature a slate hipped roof that extends to the eaves. The houses rise three storeys above a basement, with each house having two windows on the front and a shared blind window in the center on each floor. The outer bay of each house is slightly recessed, with an entrance below that is framed by an advanced Doric porch. The doors are panelled, and the ground floor is finished with channelled stucco. The windows have square heads, with gauged brick heads on the upper storeys, divided into tripartite sections and fitted with small panes. The corners of the buildings are accentuated with rusticated brick quoins. Additionally, there are cast iron window guards on the ground and first floors, along with cast iron railings leading up to the steps.
