Description
The monument to Edward Onslow Ford, dating from around 1901, is made of Portland stone and bronze. It features a stone obelisk that projects forward at the south face to support a bronze figure of a seated female draped in fabric, holding a harp. On the north face, there is an inset portrait roundel of Edward Onslow Ford, who lived from 1852 to 1901. The top of the obelisk is adorned with Ionic volutes at the corners. The monument is set on low steps that also hold a pair of bronze lamp standards, which have gadrooned bases and globular glass lanterns.
